Chris is a Global Investigator with the Law Enforcement Relations team at TRM.
Before TRM, Chris worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for more than ten years, supporting many of the FBI’s most successful cryptocurrency cases. Chris was a Supervisory Special Agent in the FBI’s Virtual Assets Unit (VAU), spearheading efforts to reduce illicit activity in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Chris provided impactful, strategic support to counter North Korea’s illicit revenue generation through cryptocurrency-related crime, including many of their large scale thefts and disruption of North Korean IT workers employed in the crypto ecosystem. Chris also investigated many other large-scale cryptocurrency cases — including co-leading the 2016 Bitfinex hack case with TRM's Head of Global Investigations, Chris Janczewski.
