San Francisco, CA — October 30, 2025 — TRM Labs’s legal team has been shortlisted for the 2025 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America Awards, one of the profession’s most prestigious recognitions. TRM has been named a finalist in three categories, including Most Innovative In-house Legal Team — the top honor of the awards program.
The “Most Innovative” award is based on a cumulative score derived from nominations and survey responses, reflecting the TRM legal department’s market leadership in providing commercial and strategic advice, employing novel digital solutions, and implementing operational transformation.
The Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards spotlight the professionals and teams pioneering new ways of working — from modernizing legal workflows to developing strategies that push the boundaries of what legal teams can deliver. This year’s shortlist includes some of the most respected names in law across North America, and TRM is proud to be recognized among them.
“This recognition is a reflection of the caliber, creativity, and impact our legal team brings to TRM every day,” said Sujit Raman, Chief Legal Officer at TRM Labs. “In an industry defined by complexity and pace, our legal function operates not only as a trusted advisor, but also as a builder — continuously engineering novel solutions that scale with the needs of our global customers, partners, and business.”
From designing and building in-house custom tooling to accelerate contract review cycles, to leveraging the latest innovations in data aggregation and analysis to conduct legal research and create regulatory updates, to collaborating with TRM’s award-winning scientists and engineers to implement next-generation AI systems that enhance internal efficiency — the team has shaped what an AI-enabled legal function can look like in practice.
The 2025 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards ceremony will take place on December 8 at Gotham Hall in New York City. A full list of shortlisted nominees is available on the Financial Times Awards site.
