Ali Comolli

Global Capacity Building Lead

Ali Comolli is TRM's Global Capacity Building Lead, where she works with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and government partners around the world to build the investigative and legal foundation needed to disrupt criminal networks and secure convictions at scale.

Prior to joining TRM, Ali served as an Assistant United States Attorney and Digital Asset Coordinator in the Southern District of Florida, where she prosecuted complex federal crimes including money laundering, securities fraud, narcotics trafficking, and national security offenses, and tried cases to verdict across a range of offenses.

Prior to her time as a federal prosecutor, Ali spent nearly a decade at the FBI, where she emerged as one of the Bureau's earliest virtual currency subject matter experts. She founded the FBI's Virtual Currency Response Team, helped build the investigative infrastructure underpinning the FBI's approach to virtual currency investigations, created the Bureau's first virtual currency investigative curriculum, and played a leading role in shaping the Joint Criminal Opioid Darknet Enforcement Team (JCODE), an Attorney General-level initiative targeting criminal enterprises exploiting the internet for opioid trafficking. She led an international working group of over 150 law enforcement officers and analysts and was called upon to brief the Attorney General, FBI Director, Director of National Intelligence, and members of Congress on virtual currency and cyber matters. She played a central role in the AlphaBay takedown — one of the largest coordinated law enforcement operations against a darknet marketplace in history — as well as the dismantlement of DeepDotWeb, seizing hundreds of millions of dollars in illicit proceeds across her FBI career.
