5 Reasons to Attend Block by TRM

In just a few short weeks, TRM will welcome investigators, analysts, compliance professionals, regulators, and agency leaders to Block by TRM: our inaugural user conference in Washington, D.C.

Block isn’t your typical sit-and-listen affair. It’s a hands-on, scenario-based training experience tailored to how the people living and breathing crypto enforcement, compliance, regulation, and interdiction actually work each day. From live tracing exercises with some of the world’s most experienced crypto investigators, to threat briefings with subject matter experts, to product deep-dives with product builders and master TRM Academy instructors — you’ll leave Block with new skills you can immediately apply in your role.

We’ll dig deeper into each of our learning tracks (what we’re calling “Blocks”) in a future post, but for now, here are five big reasons you should join us at Block by TRM.

1. Immerse yourself in hands-on learning, built for your mission

In crypto investigations, theory isn’t enough — you need reps. At Block, every track gets attendees’ hands on keyboards, working through real-world scenarios that reflect the work they do every day.

Investigator Block

Investigators will triage cases, follow digital trails, and walk through seizure workflows. You’ll learn what it takes to build a case that stands up in court, mastering techniques to prevent common pitfalls. And you’ll workshop cases live alongside some of the world’s most experienced blockchain tracers and investigators.

Compliance Block

Compliance teams will look beyond hop counts and test their skills to surface hidden risks. You’ll learn what it takes to combine on- and off-chain data to uncover risks from onramp to offramp. And you’ll work alongside global compliance experts with experience building crypto compliance programs from the ground up.

NatSec Block

National security professionals will study tradecraft and adversary tactics — going inside how nation-state actors and terrorist networks move money through crypto. You’ll gain actionable intelligence on adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and work through a true-to-life simulation, turning raw intelligence into reporting. And you’ll learn advanced (and proven) attribution methods.

Regulator Block

Regulators will simulate Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) assessments and evaluate controls — exploring how to leverage blockchain intelligence throughout the process. You’ll learn to spot the indicators of poor controls, trace real transactions to assess counterparty and indirect risk, and dig into real-world examples of how VASPs leverage blockchain analytics.

Command Block

In this half-day track, senior leaders will hear about TRM’s roadmap, the role of AI in crypto investigations, and the importance of public-private initiatives like Beacon Network in disrupting crypto-enabled crime. You’ll hear intelligence briefings on today’s most pressing threat categories. And you’ll learn how to align blockchain intelligence with your mission priorities.

These are not surface-level presentations. Each Block has been designed by subject matter experts — and pressure-tested by frontline professionals — to mirror real-world application.

2. Network and connect within and across sectors

Most conferences simply talk about collaboration. Block actually makes it happen. We’re bringing together leaders and experts from across the public and private sectors — law enforcement, compliance, intelligence, and regulators — into one shared space.

While learning tracks will be closed-door to enable candid, role-specific discussion, we’ve built in opportunities for attendees to cross-pollinate across sectors. From networking sessions to “ask the experts” activations to an evening reception — you’ll have space to connect, share context, and find solutions together.

This is an opportunity to meet the people who do what you do — or who need what you do. And those conversations won’t end when the conference does.

3. Learn from the people who built the platform

Throughout the day at Block, you’ll be able to sit down with TRM product builders, investigators, policy leaders, and analysts — the very people building the tools, attribution, and intelligence that help power your mission.

You’ll get hands-on coaching from master TRM Academy instructors to master the workflows that matter most to you. You’ll have the chance to live-workshop any challenges you’re facing with teams of cross-functional subject matter experts. And you’ll make new connections you can leverage long after Block is over.

4. Be the first to see what’s new and coming soon

Block by TRM gives you a front-row seat to what’s new and coming next from the builders at TRM.

Our product teams will be on-site to share a first look at new features and capabilities launching soon — giving you a sneak peek into the TRM product roadmap. You’ll see how we’re advancing our platform to streamline your daily workflows and accelerate your mission outcomes. This is also an opportunity to provide direct feedback to our product teams to ensure our tools evolve to meet your needs.

Whether you’re an investigator, compliance professional, regulator, or agency leader, you’ll walk away with an understanding of how you can lean on TRM’s product and team to move faster, trace smarter, and stay ahead of emerging threats.

5. Be part of something bigger

We created Block to serve as an anchor point for the blockchain intelligence community: a place to train together, share new tactics, and build the relationships that help us all move faster and smarter in the year ahead. It’s the beginning of an annual gathering for those working to secure the future of finance, where shared purpose becomes shared momentum.

If you work at the intersection of crypto and risk — and want to sharpen your skills, expand your network, and shape the next generation of blockchain intelligence — join us at Block by TRM this November.
